Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented, dedicated Compounding Pharmacy Technician to join our specialized laboratory team. In this role, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to prepare customized, high-quality medications tailored to individual patient needs. If you possess strong mathematical skills, a passion for pharmaceutical precision, and a commitment to maintaining rigorous safety standards, we want you on our team.
Duties and Responsibilities Prepare Custom Medications:
Accurately measure, weigh, and mix chemical ingredients to formulate non-sterile compounds.Maintain Lab Compliance:
Strictly adhere to master formulation sheets, state regulations, and USP standards (<795> and <800> where applicable).Sterile Environment Upkeep:
Perform daily cleaning, sanitization, and environmental monitoring of compounding hoods and laboratory spaces to prevent contamination.Detailed Documentation:
Maintain meticulous records of lot numbers, chemical weights, expiration dates, and preparation steps in the pharmacy software.Inventory Control:
Monitor raw chemical stocks, track component expiration dates, and safely manage hazardous materials.Administrative Support:
Print specialized prescription labels, package finished compounds, and assist with inventory ordering.Requirements and Qualifications Licensure:
Active Pharmacy Technician registration with the Kansas Board of Pharmacy.Certification:
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) status is highly preferred.Skills:
Exceptional mathematical calculation skills for precise compound measurements and unit conversions.Attributes:
Extreme attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work cleanly and efficiently.Physical Demands:
Ability to stand for extended periods, maintain fine motor skills for manual compounding, and lift up to 30 pounds.Pay:
