Job Description

- Job Summary and Qualifications
- Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician II performs functions related to pharmaceutical preparation and distribution.
- The Pharmacy Technician II has a breadth of skills to allow rotation through 4 or more of these areas, as defined by facility needs:
- + •Main Pharmacy, Pyxis, CII Safe, Sterile Compounding, Non Sterile compounding, Hazardous Compounding, and Controlled Substance Tech duties.
- The individual is engaged in the pharmacy department's processes through participation in training and onboarding of new hires, participating in department projects as assigned, and participating on a department or hospital committee. Participation with professional associations is preferred but not required.
- What qualifications you will need:
- + •One year of Pharmacy Technician I (or 3 years of previous relevant experience) is required;•inpatient experience strongly preferred•+ •Technician license/certification with the applicable state Board of Pharmacy.
- + •Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT, ExCPT, or national equivalent accredited by NCCA) is required.
- + •Highschool diploma or equivalent•+ •As defined in competencies; ability to work accurately with attention to detail.
- + •Pharmacy Technicians work under the direct supervision of pharmacists and pharmacy leadership, incompliance with applicable policies, law, regulations, practices and procedures prescribed by his/her immediate supervisor.
