Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in pharmacy operations, critical care, and hospital settings. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to patient-centered care by supporting medication management, compounding, and medication administration within a fast-paced, clinical environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, proficiency in medical terminology, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and accuracy. Duties Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately, including IV infusions and aseptic techniques for sterile compounding. Manage medication intake processes, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to regulatory standards. Support patient service initiatives by providing clear medication information and addressing patient inquiries with professionalism. Prepare and verify medication orders for critical care and acute care units, ensuring timely delivery for patient treatment. Maintain compliance with hospital policies, including infection control protocols and safety procedures related to medication handling. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate medication administration and optimize patient outcomes. Conduct inventory management tasks such as stock replenishment, expiration date monitoring, and order processing for pharmacy supplies. Uphold strict aseptic techniques during all sterile compounding activities to prevent contamination and ensure patient safety. Skills Proven experience as a pharmacy technician within LTC pharmacy or hospital environments. Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to pharmacy practice and patient care. Critical care experience is highly desirable, particularly in managing complex medication regimens. Expertise in IV infusion preparation, aseptic technique, and medication administration procedures. Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations. Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and inventory control tools for efficient workflow management. Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
