Job Description Job Purpose:
The Pharmacy Technician will be the liaison between pharmacy staff, HealthCore Providers and HealthCore patients. This job requires an individual with excellent communication skills, good working knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and measurement, attention to detail, good judgment, excellent organization skills, excellent decision making, analytical and problem solving skills, exceptional time management skills, ability to multi-task and organize work effectively, ability to work independently and as a cooperative team member. The Pharmacy Technician position for HealthCore Clinic, Inc. (HCC) requires a highly organized, independent person. This position requires a fundamental understanding of and passion for the mission of HealthCore Clinic.
Essential Functions Patient-Centered Medical Home Essential Functions:
Patient Population Management:
Maintains a professional and effective relationship with patients, pharmacy staff and providers that ensures the longevity of the clinic and the programs that it provides.
Care Coordination:
Helps patients get their medications regularly and timely. Coordinates with providers or pharmacy staff any questions or issues.
Self-management Support:
Self-starter highly motivated, exceptional time management skills and ability to work independently with minimal directions.
Communication Skills:
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are required, including the ability to multi-task and adapt to a changing work environment. Display good judgment and decision making skills. Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with clinical staff, patients and pharmacy staff.
Quality Improvement:
Identifies improvement in processes and procedures that helps patients get medications to improve their quality of life. Additional Essential Functions include the following: Maintain professional working relationships at all times, with the pharmacy personnel, physicians, nurses, and other medical personnel. Understand that the requirements of working in a pharmacy are varied and may change as demands on the department change. Be available to the customer/patients at all times. Maintain friendly and helpful attitude at all times when dealing with customers. Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Organizes medications for the pharmacist on duty to dispense by profiling prescriptions; preparing labels and calculating quantities. Ensures medication availability by delivering medications to patients and ordering when needed. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Works with pharmacy team to ensure best practices are being followed with regards to 340B. Participates in educational opportunities. Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Qualifications and Requirements:
Prior Pharmacy Technician experience preferred. Licensed pharmacy technician in state of Kansas. Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or ExCPT preferred. At least one (1) years with retail pharmacy technician related experience. Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing. 340B experience is preferred. Working Environment /
Physical Demands:
Works in a well-lit, climate controlled environment. Repetitive movement-requires repetitive hand and finger movement, keying information into the computer. Regularly required to sit and work at computer monitor. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds. Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel or crouch.
Working Hours:
8am 5pm or as agreed with manager. Not only is Healthcore Clinic a great place to get care, its also a great place to work!
