Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician - IV Certified Job Type Contract A specialized role is available for an experienced IV Pharmacy Technician to lead compounding operations at a closed-door long-term care facility in Nicholasville, Kentucky. This contract opportunity offers a dynamic day-shift schedule and a critical leadership role within the sterile compounding environment.
Responsibilities:
Lead the compounding room operations with hands-on involvement. Prepare intravenous (IV) medications using aseptic techniques to ensure sterility. Manage inventory to maintain effective drug supply levels. Ensure full compliance with USP 797 standards and regulatory requirements. Cross-train in the narcotics department to support broader pharmacy operations. Utilize Frameworks software, with training provided as needed. Maintain high attendance and reliability given the critical nature of the role.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Active and clear Kentucky Pharmacy Technician license. Recent, hands-on experience in IV compounding within a sterile clean room environment. Minimum of 2 years' compounding experience; additional experience preferred. Lead technician experience is not required but a strong work ethic and willingness to lead are essential. Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification is highly preferred, though not mandatory.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Rotating weekends This direct hire position within a long-term care setting demands precision, reliability, and leadership in sterile compounding.
