The base salary range is $21.46 -$32.19 excluding fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Your final base salary will be determined based on your education, experience, licensure, and internal equity considerations. Offers are typically made below the top of the range to support future salary growth. The Pharmacy Technician assists the registered pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of sterile and non-sterile medications, including IV solutions, in conjunction with state and federal laws. Maintains records and inventory, and follows procedural work routines to ensure medications are ready and available for patient administration. Massachusetts Registration and Certification required. High school diploma or equivalent required. Hospital pharmacy technician experience strongly preferred. Sterile compounding experience strongly preferred. Job Description/Competencies Prepares medications and IV solutions for patients using aseptic technique and ensures patient medications are ready when needed. Fills code blue carts and kits according to departmental policies and procedures. Refills medications according to refill reports for Automated Dispensing Devices. Completes medication area inspections. Demonstrates the ability to calculate appropriate dosage for the ages of the patients served. Utilizes pharmacy computer systems, including automated dispensing cabinets. Demonstrates strong ability to complete tasks within set time frames, and exercises initiative in problem solving to enhance productivity and efficient operation of the department.
