Job Description:
Job Description Essential Core Responsibilities:
Restocks floor stock/automated dispensing machines. Enters charges/credits against patient profile to ensure an accurate bill. Monitors medication order reports to assign medication to an automated dispensing machine. Delivers all medication in compliance with all
DEA, DPH
& State Board of Pharmacy regulations. Repackages bulk supplies of medications in unit of use packaging in accordance with all Federal
USP & USP
standards. Prepares and delivers IV medications in accordance with Federal
USP & USP
standards. Maintains records pertaining to IV admixtures, maintains cleanliness in sterile areas, and completes QA. Checks for expired medications within the pharmacy & automated dispensing cabinets. Ensures that all expired/damaged medications are disposed of in accordance with
RCRA, OSHA & NIOSH
regulations.
Level Specific Responsibilities:
Participates in the inspection of medication storage areas to ensure compliance with regulations and standards. Participates in drug procurement and receiving. Participates in automated dispensing systems inventory management. Participates in diversion prevention monitoring. Responsible for training new staff in Central Pharmacy Operations. Tasks include but are not limited to: (1) Automated Dispensing Cabinet responsibilities, (2) Medication monitoring reports, (3) Restocking, and (4) Expiration Date Checking Responsible for training new staff in extemporaneous non-sterile compounding and repackaging of medications in accordance to all USP guidelines Responsible for training new staff in all Sterile Products areas. Training includes clean room operations, documentation/QA, and all areas of compounding including, but not limited to: (1) Low/Medium Risk compounding, (2) High Risk compounding, (3) TPN, (4) Neonatal, (5) Hazardous and chemotherapeutic,
Required Qualifications:
2-5 years experience High School Diploma/GED Registered Technician with State CPhT Sterile compounding experience
Preferred Qualifications:
CPhT-Adv Hospital pharmacy experience
Pay Range:
$25.73 - $34.62 The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
