Job Description

Johns Hopkins Intrastaff is the internal staffing agency for the Johns Hopkins Health System and partner hospitals, providing temporary support to a variety of the Johns Hopkins locations. Home Central Fill Pharmacy Schedule:
Monday- Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting central pharmacists and technicians in the delivery of medications and pharmaceutical products under direct supervision of a Pharmacist. Documents and updates documentation on various pharmaceutical products that are loaded in the automated dispensing machines. Communicates with pharmacy staff and nurses about medication when necessary and appropriate. Prepare medications accurately in accordance with prescriptions and medication orders. Assist in the preparation of sterile and non-sterile compounds. Maintain accurate records, including labeling, documentation, and tracking of medications. Support inventory management by ordering, receiving, and stocking medications and supplies. Deliver medications to patient care areas following established procedures. Monitor expiration dates and remove expired medications from inventory. Handle hazardous medications in compliance with safety policies and procedures. Communicate effectively with pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare team members. Report medication errors or potential issues in accordance with guidelines. Maintain and clean pharmacy equipment and automation systems. Participate in ongoing education and training program. High School Diploma or GED required. 6 months of Hospital Pharmacy Technician experience required. Must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with state of Maryland. Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required.
