General Summary:
The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting central pharmacists and technicians in the delivery of medications and pharmaceutical products under direct supervision of a Pharmacist. Documents and updates documentation on various pharmaceutical products that are loaded in the automated dispensing machines. Communicates with pharmacy staff and nurses about medication when necessary and appropriate.
Minimum Education:
High school diploma or GED is required.
Required Licensure, Certification, On-going Training:
Current registration with the Maryland State Board of Pharmacy for Maryland as a Pharmacy Technician. Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certified required, or obtain PTCB certification within 1 year of hire. Licensure required. PTCB for pharmacy students can be waived for those who have an active Pharmacist Intern License. 6 months of previous hospital experience is preferred.
Shift:
PRN/On-Call:
Rotating shifts as needed Required to work weekends, Holiday, and over nightshift (as needed) Must be available for training
Salary Range:
Minimum 29.00/hour - Maximum 29.00/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority. The Hospital reserves the right to modify employee schedules as needed.
