Job Title:
Pharmacy Technician Job Description Join our dynamic team as a Pharmacy Technician, where you will play a vital role in supporting floor operations and ensuring the efficient preparation and delivery of medications. This position involves working in a collaborative environment alongside pharmacists, technicians, and clerks to meet the prescription fulfillment needs of our clients. Responsibilities (9p/10pm start time) Prepare finished prescriptions and perform light warehouse duties. Sort baskets and carts of final reviewed medications according to facility units, location, and delivery times. Scan all medications pending for delivery. Prepare delivery manifests, packing slips, and ancillary paperwork to correspond to the appropriate facility. Retrieve final reviewed medication baskets and carts from RPh final review stations, including STATs. Set up delivery totes and stickers in preparation for the day. Check racks and bins before each delivery departure for missing medications. Scan manifests into the system for delivery confirmation. Provide additional support to the pharmacy floor during downtime. Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA. Comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code. Other duties as assigned. Essential Skills High School diploma or equivalent. Ability to maintain a moderate work speed. Proficient in English language and reading skills. 0-6 months of working experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior experience in a pharmacy setting, preferably retail or long-term care. Previous warehouse experience is advantageous. Retail pharmacy knowledge, data entry, and order filling skills. Pharmacy technician license and certification are beneficial but not required. Experience with health care, compounding, fulfillment, insurance, inventory, and drug products. Work Environment This role is based in a pharmacy setting, requiring physical activities such as sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and walking intermittently throughout the day. The position may necessitate sitting or standing for seven to ten hours per day, with potential extended hours as needed. Finger dexterity is required to operate office equipment, and you may need to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. Visual acuity for reading fine print and specific vision abilities such as close vision, color vision, and focus adjustment are necessary. The work environment is representative of typical conditions encountered while performing essential functions in a pharmacy. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Columbia, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
