Position Summary Collaborates with dispensing pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to accurately and efficiently prepare and process specialty medication orders, package shipments, and maintain inventory within a fast-paced specialty mail order pharmacy environment. Job Description We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our Specialty Mail Order Pharmacy team in a high impact, fast-paced backend environment. This role is responsible for supporting the accurate preparation, picking, and coordination of specialty medication orders to ensure safe and timely delivery to patients. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will work closely with pharmacists and team members to fulfill prescription orders, maintain workflow efficiency, and uphold quality and compliance standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, accountability, and the ability to work effectively in a team-driven setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately pick, prepare, and process specialty medication orders based on prescription requirements Ensure correct drug selection, strength, and labeling in accordance with pharmacy standards Package and prepare medications for shipment to patients Maintain inventory, receive stock, and support supply management Collaborate with pharmacists and team members to ensure workflow efficiency and accuracy Adhere to all safety, compliance, and regulatory guidelines
Work Environment:
Columbia, MD Specialty Mail Order Pharmacy (Backend Operations)
Shift:
10:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Monday-Friday Required Qualifications Active Maryland Pharmacy Technician license Basic awareness of problem solving and decision-making skills Minimum of six months general work experience Must be able to lift 50+ lbs. Must be able to stand, walk and lift for up to ten hours daily. Ability to reach, twist, turn, bend, stoop and walk. Preferred Qualifications National pharmacy technician certification Prefer six months work experience in a pick/pack/ship environment. Prefer three months of work and computer experience. Education High school diploma or equivalent required Anticipated Weekly Hours 40 Time Type Full time Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $17.00 - $31.30 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. Our people fuel our future.
