Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS
Job Summary:
Responsible for daily resupply of medications from wholesalers. Maintains an orderly arrangement of medications and supplies which meets all special storage requirements. Maintains appropriate files and records in accordance with Maryland State Board of Pharmacy and Federal Laws.
Education:
High school diploma or GED with courses in Math and Science required.
Registration/Certification/Licensure:
MD Board Pharmacy Technician licensure, required. National Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB) or other Pharmacy Tech certification program, preferred. Unexpired, unsuspended driver's license if incumbent will be required to drive as part of their routine job duties.
Experience:
Position requires 6 months -1 year related experience. Previous Pharmacy or inventory control experience, preferred.
Other Requirements:
Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements. Effectively communicates with all patient populations and staff by implementing organization-wide communication techniques as a daily practice. Effectively advocates for quality patient safety and satisfaction as a daily practice. Demonstrated proficiency of computer skills necessary to effectively complete position requirements. Previous experience and demonstrated professionalism in effectively communicating with customers and in promoting a positive service atmosphere. Ability to work independently in a multi-task environment producing quality work. May require the ability to drive as part of routine job duties. Must be able to score at least 3 problems out of 5 in annual technician competence test in IV preparation math test. Participates in on-call Pharmacy Technician rotation when necessary.
