Responsibilities Assist pharmacists in preparing medications for both inpatient and outpatient care, including IV infusions and aseptic techniques. Manage medication intake processes, verifying prescriptions, and ensuring accurate documentation aligned with medical terminology standards. Support patient service initiatives by providing clear medication instructions and answering patient inquiries with professionalism and compassion. Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques during medication preparation, especially for IV infusions and other sterile procedures. Collaborate with healthcare teams in acute care settings to facilitate medication administration, ensuring timely delivery and safety compliance. Conduct medication inventory management, including stock checks, proper storage, and documentation of medication usage. Follow hospital protocols for medication safety, critical care procedures, and patient care standards to uphold the highest quality of service. Qualifications Proven pharmacy technician experience with a strong understanding of LTC pharmacy practices. Prior hospital or acute care experience is highly desirable, especially within critical care or medical-surgical units. Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to pharmacy operations and patient care. Experience with IV infusion preparation and aseptic techniques required for sterile compounding. Demonstrated ability to provide excellent patient service and support medication administration processes. Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and inventory management tools. Certification as a pharmacy technician is preferred; ongoing education in medical or pharmaceutical fields is a plus.
