Job Description

Job Summary:
The Pharmacy Clerk assists pharmacy patients in a retail setting performing the following duties.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Receives and stores incoming medication and supplies. o Controlled substances will be verified and signed in by the pharmacist o Confirms receipt of all items with invoices o Scans all products through DSCSA verification o Adds price stickers to all items received o Shelves items; rotating older stock Places orders to maintain proper stock levels of supplies (vials, caps, labels, office supplies, etc.). Assists in identifying outdated product from shelves per pharmacy procedure. Performs sorting and filing of paper prescription records. Answers telephone; refers call to pharmacist or technician when appropriate. Completes sales of prescriptions and non-prescription items to patients by scanning each item/prescription to capture electronic signature upon pickup and collect copays. Updates patient demographics (phone, address, ID, etc.) within the pharmacy software. Prepares mail-order packages. Contacts patients in preparation for delivery, completes delivery sales, prepares delivery bags. Assists and/or completes special non-dispensing assignments (cleaning, organizing, etc.) as directed. Recognizes and reacts appropriately to an urgent or emergent situation. Performs other duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager. Attends and participates in all required meetings.
Qualifications:
Required High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Customer service or healthcare experience.
Preferred:
Experience in a pharmacy setting. Experience in customer service. This health center is a Health Center Program grantee under 42 U.S.C. 254b. and a deemed Public Health Service employee under 42 U.S.C. 233(g)-(n).
