Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in pharmacy operations, with particular expertise in LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy, critical care, and hospital settings. This role involves providing exceptional patient service, supporting medication management, and ensuring the safe preparation and distribution of pharmaceuticals. The Certified Pharmacy Technician will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive patient care through accurate medication dispensing, IV infusion preparation, and adherence to aseptic techniques. Duties Assist licensed pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately, including IV infusions and aseptic compounding. Manage medication inventory, ensuring proper storage, stock levels, and documentation to maintain compliance with safety standards. Support patient intake processes by verifying prescriptions, updating patient records, and facilitating medication reconciliation. Provide excellent patient service by answering medication-related questions and coordinating with healthcare providers to optimize patient care. Follow strict aseptic techniques during sterile compounding procedures to prevent contamination and ensure medication safety. Maintain detailed documentation of medication preparation, dispensing activities, and inventory transactions for compliance purposes. Collaborate with healthcare teams in acute care environments to support medication administration and monitor patient responses. Stay current with medical terminology, hospital protocols, and pharmacy regulations to uphold high standards of practice. Experience Prior experience as a pharmacy technician in LTC pharmacy or hospital settings is required. Demonstrated critical care experience is highly desirable, with familiarity in managing complex medication regimens. Proven ability to perform medication administration tasks accurately within an acute care environment. Experience with IV infusion preparation and aseptic techniques is essential for this role. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacy software systems, and inventory management practices. Excellent patient service skills combined with a thorough understanding of patient care protocols. Previous pharmacy technician certification from an accredited program is mandatory; ongoing education in medical or pharmaceutical fields is advantageous. $16.00 - $21.00 per hour
