Job Title:
Pharmacy Technician Job Description This role focuses on accurately filling prescriptions in a high-volume pharmacy environment while supporting shipping and receiving processes. You will prepare prescriptions for pharmacist verification and shipment, maintain a strong emphasis on accuracy and pharmacy workflow, and stay comfortable working on your feet for extended periods. The position offers cross-training opportunities in multiple areas of the pharmacy operation. Responsibilities Accurately fill 18-22 prescription orders per hour in accordance with established pharmacy procedures. Prepare filled prescriptions for pharmacist review and final verification before shipment. Assist with the shipping process as needed, including preparing and organizing orders for dispatch. Support receiving activities as cross-trained, helping to manage incoming items and supplies. Follow established pharmacy workflows to ensure efficient and safe handling of medications. Maintain a high level of attention to detail to prevent errors in filling and packaging prescriptions. Remain on your feet and walk throughout the facility for the majority of the workday. Arrive promptly and complete assigned tasks within scheduled shifts to support timely order processing. Participate in cross-training for shipping, receiving, and filling functions to provide flexible operational support. Essential Skills Active licensed Pharmacy Technician in the state of Missouri. At least 1 year of pharmacy experience. High school diploma or equivalent. Proven ability to accurately fill 18-22 prescription orders per hour. Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all prescription filling activities. Reliable, prompt, and able to adhere to scheduled work hours. Comfortable standing and walking for up to 8 hours per day. Basic knowledge of pharmacy workflow and order processing. Ability to work effectively in a role that requires frequent movement and multitasking. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with shipping and receiving processes in a pharmacy or similar environment. Willingness to be cross-trained across filling, shipping, and receiving functions. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple orders efficiently. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and quality. Work Environment This position is based in a pharmacy setting with a strong focus on high-volume prescription fulfillment and shipping. The role requires standing and walking for up to 8 hours per day, with frequent movement throughout the facility. The schedule falls between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., with an 8-hour workday and a 30-minute lunch, and start and end times may vary within this range. You will work around pharmacy operations, including filling, shipping, and receiving, in a structured and process-driven environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Chesterfield, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
