Job Description

As a Pharmacy Technician at Drugco Pharmacy, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our pharmacies. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting pharmacists in dispensing medications, managing inventory, providing exceptional customer service, and supporting the Med Sync program. You will ensure that patients receive their medications accurately and on time, while also contributing to the overall efficiency and quality of our pharmacy services.
Key Responsibilities:
1.
Medication Dispensing and Patient Interaction:
Assist pharmacists in accurately filling prescriptions, including counting, measuring, and labeling medications. Verify prescription information and insurance details to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations. Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries, resolving issues, and promoting pharmacy services. Educate patients on medication usage, dosage instructions, potential side effects, and storage requirements under the guidance of the pharmacist. 2. Medication Synchronization (Med Sync): Coordinate and manage the Med Sync program to ensure patients receive their medications in a timely and synchronized manner. Contact patients enrolled in the Med Sync program to confirm their medication needs, review any changes, and ensure readiness for pickup or delivery. Work closely with pharmacists to identify patients eligible for the Med Sync program and assist in enrolling them. Monitor medication synchronization schedules, making necessary adjustments to ensure all medications are synchronized for efficient refill processing. Maintain accurate records of patient interactions, medication changes, and synchronization schedules. 3.
Inventory Management and Ordering:
Maintain accurate inventory records by conducting regular inventory checks, stocking shelves, and removing expired or recalled medications. Assist in ordering and receiving medications and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained. Collaborate with the pharmacy team to optimize inventory management, reduce waste, and ensure medication availability. 4.
Regulatory Compliance and Safety:
Adhere to all state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations, including HIPAA, to protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality. Follow standard operating procedures and safety protocols to ensure a safe and clean pharmacy environment. Assist in maintaining and updating pharmacy records, logs, and documentation as required by regulatory agencies and Drugco Pharmacy policies. 5.
Technology and Administrative Support:
Utilize pharmacy software and technology to manage patient profiles, process prescriptions, and manage the Med Sync program. Assist with administrative tasks, such as processing insurance claims, managing patient profiles, and updating electronic health records. Support pharmacists in conducting medication therapy management (MTM) and medication reconciliation activities. 6.
Additional Responsibilities:
Perform other duties as assigned by the Pharmacist-in-Charge or Pharmacy Manager to support the overall operations and goals of the pharmacy.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (required). Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) or state-specific certification (required or preferred, depending on state regulations). Prior experience as a pharmacy technician, preferably in a retail or community pharmacy setting. Knowledge of pharmacy operations, medications, and medical terminology. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-centric approach. Proficiency in pharmacy software, technology, and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and move around for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds. Manual dexterity and the ability to use hands and fingers to handle medications and equipment.

$11.00 - $13.00 per hour
