Job Summary and Responsibilities Pharmacy Intern - Grow Your Career While Making an Impact Are you a motivated pharmacy student ready to turn classroom knowledge into real-world clinical experience? Join our inpatient pharmacy team and gain hands-on exposure in a fast-paced, collaborative healthcare environment where your growth is a priority. As a Pharmacy Intern, you'll work side-by-side with experienced pharmacists, building the skills and confidence needed for your future career—while directly supporting safe, high-quality patient care. What You'll Do Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, compounding, and distribution Utilize pharmacy automation to enhance safety and efficiency Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounded products (including IV admixtures) Manage medication inventory, including controlled substances and cycle counts Support narcotic distribution and maintain accurate perpetual inventories Conduct medication storage inspections across clinical areas Perform precise pharmaceutical calculations Respond to medication-related questions from healthcare teams and patients Participate in clinical and administrative pharmacy functions What Makes This Role Unique This isn't just a job—it's a structured learning experience designed to grow with you throughout pharmacy school. Your Growth Path P1 (Foundational Learning): Build core skills in medication preparation, distribution, and inventory Learn pharmacy automation systems and unit-dose processes Develop strong communication with healthcare teams Gain experience in aseptic technique and pharmaceutical calculations P2 (Skill Expansion): Take on operational projects and process improvement initiatives Participate in department meetings, training, and team collaboration P3 (Leadership Development): Mentor and train newer team members Lead and present clinical or operational projects Strengthen leadership and advanced pharmacy practice skills Job Requirements Current enrollment in an accredited College of Pharmacy Nebraska Pharmacist Intern License
