Job Description
Position Summary Pharmacy technicians, under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, are responsible for providing technical support for the Department of Pharmaceutical Services. They are responsible for labeling, preparing, dispensing, and distributing of pharmaceutical products for all patient populations including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. This position may also provide operational support to the Hunterdon Regional Pharmacy as needed. Primary Position Responsibilities 1. Prepares all medications doses in accordance with department policies in addition to state, and federal regulations, under the direct supervision of a Licensed Pharmacist. 2. Prepares all parenteral products in accordance with department policies in addition to state, and federal regulations, under the direct supervision of a Licensed Pharmacist. 3. Delivers and distributes medications. 4. Provides inventory and clerical support. 5. Follows all departmental policies and procedures including IV cleanroom policies 6. Provides operational support to the outpatient pharmacy 7. Participates in other duties as assigned.

Accredited Pharmacy Technician Education Program and/or Specialized IV Training Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):Required:

One year hospital pharmacy (including IV preparations) or two years community retail pharmacy.License, Registry or Certification :
Required:
New Jersey Pharmacy Technician License (Should be registered with the New Jersey Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire), Certified Pharmacy Technician (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) Knowledge, Skills and/orAbilities :
Required:
Mathematical proficiency; Dexterity; Successful completion of written and hands on competencies; Technical expertise (site level) for Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADC) (e.g. PYXIS® or Omnicell®); Competence in required computer programs (clinical system, ADC, packaging, parenteral documentation).Preferred:
