The Clinical Pharmacy Technician plays an important role in protecting our patients from medication errors by ensuring accurate medication histories, particularly during transitions of care such as admission and discharge. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, the Clinical Pharmacy Technician will function in the critical role of obtaining and verifying medication history. This will include interviewing patients, utilizing software and contacting their outpatient pharmacies/facilities. The home medication list compiled by the Clinical Pharmacy Technician will have any discrepancies reconciled by a registered pharmacist to ensure patient safety and optimize pharmacotherapy. This role is integral to the team and involves direct patient interaction, collaboration with healthcare professionals, and detailed documentation.
Qualifications:
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
1. High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs. 2. At least one year of pharmacy experience (outpatient or inpatient) required. 3. Effective oral and written English communication. 4. Strong ability to multitask. 5. Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with others. 6. Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
1. Pharmacy Technician License. 2. PTCB Certification Required within 180 days of start of employment with the following exceptions: a. Hired prior to January 2024 b. Actively enrolled in ACPE accredited school of pharmacy / another allied health program or hired before 1-1-24.
Licenses and Certifications Preferred:
