Description:
The Pharmacy Technician assists licensed pharmacists in the preparation, dispensing, and distribution of medications while ensuring compliance with New Jersey Board of Pharmacy regulations, federal laws, and organizational policies. This role supports pharmacy operations by maintaining accurate records, managing inventory, processing prescriptions, and providing exceptional customer service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist pharmacists in the preparation, packaging, labeling, and dispensing of prescription medications. Accurately enter prescription, patient, and insurance information into the pharmacy management system. Process and adjudicate insurance claims and resolve routine billing issues. Maintain medication inventory, including receiving shipments, stocking shelves, monitoring expiration dates, and assisting with inventory counts. Prepare and organize prescriptions for pharmacist verification and dispensing. Communicate professionally with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies under pharmacist supervision. Maintain accurate pharmacy records and documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, DEA, and New Jersey Board of Pharmacy requirements. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment. Assist with additional administrative and operational duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Speaks Spanish fluently Active registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the New Jersey State Board of Pharmacy. Previous experience in a retail or specialty pharmacy setting. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Proficiency with computers, pharmacy software systems, and data entry. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
