Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated Pharmacy Technician with excellent communication skills for a very busy independent pharmacy. Must possess excellent customer service skills and be able to think independently and be part of a team with ability to package prescriptions and handle high influx of phone calls and be detail oriented. If you're an individual with good interpersonal skills, capable of working with a team this may be the position for you. Experience preferred especially with RX30 but willing to train right candidate. Pay commensurate with experience. Full Time Pharmacy Technician Qualities:

Primary Responsibilities:
Create genuine human connections by focusing on service, and keeping patients and caregivers top priority. Fill prescription orders from start to finish with an in-depth understanding of each workstation. Process prescriptions electronically and ensure all information is complete and accurate. Resolve rejected insurance claims. Retrieve, count, pour, weigh, measure and sometimes mix medication. Effectively communicate with patients, co-workers, prescribers, and insurance companies. Answer phone calls, forward calls to appropriate party and taking messages. Resolve customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience. Establish and maintain patient profiles, prepare insurance claim forms, pull expired medications, file prescriptions. Follow up on refill requests and prior authorization requests. Undertake administrative and maintenance tasks as assigned. Performs any other duties as assigned by the Pharmacist. Skills Proven experience as pharmacy technician Experience with a pharmacy software is a benefit Knowledge of medication and dosage measurement Knowledge of pharmacy law and medical terminology Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to multi-task and work at fast pace environment Reliable with a keen eye Certified Pharmacy technician is an asset
