Pharmacy Technician

Job Overview As a Pharmacy Technician , you will be a frontline representative of our retail pharmacy, delivering outstanding customer service while supporting safe and efficient prescription processing. This role is highly patient-facing and emphasizes friendly communication, problem-solving, and creating a positive pharmacy experience for every customer. In addition to retail duties, you may be assigned to support hospital discharge services by delivering medications directly to patients prior to discharge—helping ensure a smooth transition from hospital to home. Responsibilities Customer Service & Patient Support Greet patients warmly and provide courteous, professional service at all times Answer patient questions regarding prescriptions, insurance coverage, and payment options Resolve customer concerns promptly and respectfully, escalating issues when appropriate Keep patients informed of prescription status and expected wait times Create a welcoming, supportive environment that encourages trust and satisfaction Retail Pharmacy Operations Assist pharmacists with preparing and dispensing prescriptions accurately Enter and process prescriptions with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency Maintain inventory by checking stock levels and assisting with restocking Support daily pharmacy workflow to ensure timely service during high-volume periods Hospital Discharge & Bedside Delivery (When Assigned) Serve as a clerk/courier at assigned hospitals, including Valley Health System facilities Deliver discharge medications directly to patients' bedsides in a friendly and professional manner Communicate clearly with nurses, pharmacists, and pharmacy staff to support timely discharges Assist with insurance troubleshooting and payment coordination to prevent discharge delays Provide patients with clear updates on medication readiness and delivery status Schedule & Employment Status Full-time 8-10 hour shifts Open availability preferred Qualifications Pharmacy Technician certification preferred but not required Prior experience in retail pharmacy, customer service, or healthcare preferred Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-first mindset Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced retail environment Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Why Join Us Join a retail pharmacy team that values exceptional customer service, teamwork, and community care .
