$80,000 annually + Comprehensive Benefits About the Opportunity Rx relief has partnered with a premier, FDA-registered 503B outsourcing facility, to find a skilled Facilities Technician . They specialize in manufacturing sterile compounded preparations for healthcare systems nationwide. Located in Albany, NY, their state-of-the-art facility features advanced ISO-classified cleanrooms and digital tracking systems. We are seeking a proactive, hands-on professional to keep this high-tech manufacturing plant running flawlessly. This is a true "boots-on-the-ground" role. We are looking for a doer who thrives on active, physical problem-solving and keeping critical infrastructure online. What You Will Do In this role, you will report directly to the Facilities Manager and collaborate closely with Production and Quality teams to keep the site safe, efficient, and inspection-ready.
Preventive Maintenance:
Execute scheduled PMs for critical building systems, including
HVAC, BMS
sensors, air handlers, dust collection, compressed air, and RO/DI water systems.
Rapid Response & Repair:
Troubleshoot and resolve incoming work orders from the warehouse, production, and quality teams.
Facility Inspections:
Conduct routine daily rounds, check logs in cleanrooms and mechanical areas, and respond immediately to environmental system alarms (temperature, pressure, humidity).
Vendor & Qualification Support:
Assist external contractors during cleanroom certifications, HEPA integrity testing, and equipment calibrations.
General Upkeep:
Handle minor electrical, plumbing, drywall, and hardware repairs in non-classified areas.
Compliance & Safety:
Maintain accurate records in the CMMS platform utilizing Good Documentation Practices (GDP). Safely manage waste streams (general, hazardous, medical) and monitor emergency equipment (fire extinguishers, eyewash stations).
On-Call Availability:
Participate in a rotating schedule for after-hours or weekend emergency alarm responses.
What You Bring Education:
High school diploma or GED equivalent; a technical or trade school certification is highly preferred.
Experience:
3+ years of practical facilities maintenance experience within a manufacturing plant, commercial building, laboratory, or hospital setting.
Technical Skills:
Strong diagnostic abilities across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Ability to read equipment manuals, P&IDs, and basic building layouts.
Physical Capabilities:
Ability to stand/walk for long periods, climb ladders, work on lifts, and comfortably lift up to 50 lbs.
Cleanroom Readiness:
Willingness and ability to follow strict hygiene and gowning protocols required for ISO-classified sterile environments.
Mindset:
Highly reliable, detail-oriented with documentation, and deeply committed to safety protocols (LOTO, PPE). Highly Desirable (Nice to Have) Prior background in a regulated environment (cGMP, pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device manufacturing). Familiarity with specialized cleanroom HVAC operations and differential pressure systems. Active trade licenses (e.g., EPA 608 refrigerant certification, journeyman electrician). Experience with automated Building Management Systems (Siemens, Honeywell, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, etc.) or CMMS software (DataNinja, eMaint, Fiix, Maximo). OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
