In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and healthcare professionals, ensuring smooth pharmacy operations while delivering exceptional patient service. Your expertise will support medication dispensing, patient intake, and clinical tasks within a fast-paced, hospital-based environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy, critical care, and acute care settings, all while contributing to improved health outcomes. Responsibilities Greet patients and healthcare providers warmly at the front desk, providing excellent patient service and support. Assist with patient intake processes, verifying insurance information and updating medical records accurately. Prepare and dispense medications following proper aseptic techniques and pharmacy protocols, including IV infusion preparation when applicable. Manage medication inventory, restocking supplies, and ensuring proper storage in compliance with safety standards. Support pharmacy operations by entering prescriptions into the system, verifying medication accuracy, and processing refill requests. Collaborate with clinical staff to coordinate medication administration schedules and ensure timely delivery of medications in hospital or LTC settings. Maintain clear documentation of medication dispensing, patient interactions, and inventory logs to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Requirements Prior pharmacy technician experience is preferred but not required. Must be able to speak Spanish Good knowledge on how to operate and use computers. Critical care or acute care experience is a significant advantage, demonstrating ability to handle complex medication protocols such as IV infusions. Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and inventory management tools. Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and service excellence. Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail. Certification as a pharmacy technician (or equivalent) is required; ongoing education in LTC or critical care pharmacy is a plus.
