In this vital role, you will assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, managing medication inventories, and providing exceptional patient service within a fast-paced hospital or LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy setting. Your dedication to accuracy, efficiency, and compassionate patient interaction will help ensure optimal health outcomes for our diverse patient population. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in critical care, IV infusion, and acute care environments while supporting the healthcare team's mission to deliver outstanding pharmaceutical services. Duties Prepare and dispense medications accurately under the supervision of licensed pharmacists, including IV infusions and aseptic techniques for sterile preparations Manage medication inventory, including ordering, stocking, and verifying supplies to ensure availability and compliance with safety standards Assist with medication intake processes by reviewing prescriptions, verifying medical terminology, and ensuring correct medication administration procedures Provide excellent patient service by answering questions, explaining medication instructions, and supporting patient care initiatives Maintain detailed records of medication dispensing, inventory logs, and patient interactions in accordance with hospital protocols Support critical care units by ensuring timely delivery of medications in high-pressure situations while adhering to aseptic techniques and safety guidelines Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy management and ensure adherence to regulatory standards Requirements Proven pharmacy technician experience with a strong understanding of medical terminology and medication management procedures Prior experience in LTC pharmacy or hospital settings is highly preferred, especially within acute or critical care environments Demonstrated ability to perform IV infusion preparation and aseptic techniques accurately and safely Knowledge of medication administration protocols and patient care practices in hospital or acute care settings Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for inventory control and documentation accuracy Strong communication skills for effective patient interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams Certification as a pharmacy technician where applicable; ongoing professional development in pharmacy practice is a plus Join us to be part of a dedicated team committed to delivering exceptional pharmaceutical care.
