Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Pharmacy Technician, where your expertise will directly impact patient care and medication safety. In this vital role, you will support pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, managing patient interactions, and ensuring accuracy in a fast-paced hospital or LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy environment. Your dedication will help deliver exceptional service to patients requiring critical care, IV infusions, and acute care treatments. Responsibilities Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, including compounding and labeling prescriptions accurately and efficiently. Manage medication intake processes by verifying prescriptions, updating patient records, and ensuring proper documentation. Prepare and administer IV infusions using aseptic techniques to maintain sterility and safety standards. Support patient service initiatives by answering medication inquiries, providing education on drug usage, and ensuring timely delivery of medications. Maintain compliance with medical terminology standards and hospital protocols during medication dispensing and documentation. Participate in inventory management by stock replenishment, expiration tracking, and ordering supplies as needed. Adhere to strict aseptic techniques during medication preparation to prevent contamination and ensure patient safety. Skills Proven pharmacy technician experience with a strong understanding of medical terminology and medication administration procedures. Experience working in LTC pharmacy settings or hospital environments with exposure to critical care and acute care practices. Knowledge of IV infusion protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterile compounding procedures essential for patient safety. Excellent patient service skills with a focus on compassionate communication and attention to detail. Familiarity with intake processes for medication orders and managing pharmacy inventory efficiently. Strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks accurately under pressure in fast-paced healthcare settings. Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to support optimal patient outcomes.
