Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician Job Type Contract An experienced Pharmacy Technician is sought for a specialty retail pharmacy setting focused on serving complex patients managing multiple medications daily. This contract opportunity in Columbus, OH, offers a chance to work in an environment dedicated to providing comprehensive care to patients with chronic diseases. Responsibilities include accurately preparing and dispensing prescriptions, engaging with patients exhibiting diverse literacy and health challenges, and working closely with pharmacists to ensure proper medication management. Strong attention to detail and compassion are essential when assisting Medicare/Medicaid and low-income patient populations who may require extra support and clear communication.
Key qualifications and desired experience:
Proven experience as a retail pharmacy technician, preferably with specialty pharmacy exposure Thorough knowledge of 200-400 commonly dispensed retail medications Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients suffering from chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis Experience working with Medicare/Medicaid populations and low literacy patients highly valued Familiarity or willingness to learn Pioneer Rx software Resume should explicitly highlight experience with chronic disease patient care
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (no weekend shifts) This contract is expected to last approximately eight weeks with a possibility of contract-to-hire based on performance and fit within the team. Immediate start is preferred.
