Contingent/IRP Department:
Retail Rx | OSU Outpatient Pharmacy CCCT Internal Resource Pool (IRP) is an internal Ohio State term that refers to contingent employment, also commonly referred to as "PRN." Scope of Position Under the direction of a pharmacist and in coordination with other technicians, responsible for packaging, preparation, and distribution of medications, inventory control, customer service and maintaining pharmacy records. Pharmacy Technician II must participate in continual training opportunities provided by the department to develop ongoing skills in other areas of the pharmacy. A Pharmacy Technician II assists pharmacists, technician III's and IV's, and technician team managers with productivity management, training, and orientation of new staff. Pharmacy Technician II complies with all hospital and department rules and regulations and will conduct themselves in a positive and encouraging manner conducive to the hospital, the department, and administration's visions and values. Position Summary This position functions to assist the licensed pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical services to patients, as well as providing necessary services and information to nursing and medical staff. These services include preparation and packaging of moderately, complex medications, distribution of advanced medications, supplies and equipment, maintaining proper inventory levels, ensuring medications are in date and secure, and keeping appropriate records and documentation. This position is also responsible for supporting initiatives of area managers. Minimum Qualifications High School graduate or equivalent. Certified Pharmacy Technician. 1 year of relevant experience required.
