In this role, you will support pharmacy operations by preparing and dispensing medications, managing medication inventories, and ensuring precise medication administration. Your critical care experience and knowledge of LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy will empower you to provide outstanding patient service while adhering to strict safety and aseptic techniques. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to patient health outcomes in acute care settings. Duties Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, including IV infusion and aseptic technique procedures, ensuring sterile compounding standards are met. Manage medication intake processes, verifying prescriptions, and accurately entering data into pharmacy systems. Support medication administration by preparing doses for patients in hospital units, ensuring timely delivery and proper documentation. Maintain accurate inventory levels of pharmaceuticals, including LTC pharmacy supplies, and reorder stock as needed to prevent shortages. Provide excellent patient service by answering medication-related questions and coordinating with healthcare teams to optimize patient care. Follow all safety protocols related to critical care and hospital pharmacy practices, including proper handling of hazardous medications. Document all pharmacy activities thoroughly through shift reports, incident logs, and medication records to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Experience Prior pharmacy technician experience in hospital or acute care settings is essential. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology relevant to pharmacy operations and patient care. Experience with LTC pharmacy procedures and medication management is highly desirable. Critical care experience that includes handling complex medication regimens and IV infusions will set candidates apart. Familiarity with aseptic techniques used in sterile compounding environments is required. Strong understanding of medication administration protocols within hospital settings is necessary. Proven ability to provide compassionate patient service while maintaining accuracy under pressure.
