Miami Valley Hospital Under the direct supervision of the Director of Pharmacy, Coordinator, Team Leaders, and Pharmacists and according to standard procedures, upon receiving physician orders, assists in the preparation, distribution, and documentation of medication processes within the health care system. 507-
Certified Pharmacy Technician HS-High School Diploma Education Minimum Level of Education Required:
High School completion / GED Additional requirements:
  • Type of degree: Must be enrolled in a College of Pharmacy
  • Area of study or major: Pharmacy
  • Preferred educational qualifications: N/A
  • Position specific testing requirement: N/A Licensure/Certification/Registration
Licensed Pharmacy Intern Experience Minimum Level of Experience Required:
No prior job-related work experience Prior job title or occupational experience: N/A Prior specific functional responsibilities: N/lA Preferred experience: Prior hospital, long-term care or retail experience preferred Other experience requirements: N/A Knowledge/Skills
  • Possess good interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and problem solving skills
  • Able to read and write printed material in English
  • Proficiency with computer keyboard operations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications preferred
  • Ability to compute simple algebraic ratios, volume/volume percentage and weight/volume percentage
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and/or do minor maintenance on all pharmacy equipment, printers, computers and telecommunication equipment with adequate training in the pharmacy. Must be familiar with pharmacy software
  • Possess ability to work well with other health care workers and perform as team member Flexibility in scheduling essential as mentor/trainer of new coworkers
