Position Summary General Summary/Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Pharmacy, Coordinator, Team Leaders, and Pharmacists and according to standard procedures, upon receiving physician orders, assists in the preparation, distribution, and documentation of medication processes within the health care system. Minimum Level of Education Required:
High School completion / GED Additional requirements:
  • Type of degree: Must be enrolled in a College of Pharmacy
  • Area of Study or major:
Pharmacy Licensure/Certification/ Registration:
  • Licensed Pharmacy Intern Experience
  • Minimum level of experience required: No prior job-related work experience
  • Preferred experience: Prior hospital, long-term care or retail experience preferred Knowledge/Skills
  • Possess, good interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and problem solving skills
  • Able to read and write printed material in English
  • Proficiency with computer keyboard operations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications preferred
  • Ability to compute simple algebraic ratios, volume/volume percentage and weight/volume percentage
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and/or do minor maintenance on all pharmacy equipment, printers, computers and telecommunication equipment with adequate training in the pharmacy. Must be familiar with pharmacy software
  • Possess ability to work well with other health care workers and perform as team member
  • Flexibility in scheduling essential as mentor/trainer of new coworkers

Demonstrates excellent customer service through his/her attitude and actions, consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission, and Values of the organization § Adheres to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and TJC standards and/or standards from other accrediting bodies. Reports to work as required
