Pharmacist-in-Charge / Managing Partners Job Summary This position plays a critical role in supporting both the pharmacy and urgent care operations by ensuring safe, accurate, and efficient medication dispensing, inventory control, and coordination with clinical staff. The Pharmacy Technician will work closely with pharmacists, providers, and front-desk personnel to maintain compliance with state and federal regulations while promoting a professional and patient-centered care environment. Key Responsibilities Pharmacy Operations Accurately prepare, count, and label prescription medications under pharmacist supervision. Enter and verify prescription data in the pharmacy management system. Process refills, transfers, and insurance claims promptly and accurately. Maintain and organize medication inventory; check expiration dates and manage stock rotation. Support ordering and restocking of pharmaceuticals, vaccines, and medical supplies. Assist in compounding non-sterile preparations following USP standards (if applicable). Maintain accurate controlled substance records and ensure DEA and Board of Pharmacy compliance. Collaborate with pharmacists to ensure patient safety, proper dosing, and therapeutic accuracy. Patient Service & Communication Greet patients courteously and assist with prescription drop-off and pick-up. Verify patient and insurance information while maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. Communicate prescription status updates to patients and providers professionally. Assist in counseling workflow by directing questions to the pharmacist and ensuring patients understand medication use and precautions. Support patient outreach for refill reminders, prior authorizations, or prescription clarifications. Administrative & Billing Support Verify insurance eligibility and process third-party claims using pharmacy software. Resolve claim rejections or reimbursement issues efficiently. Collect co-pays and record payments accurately in the system. Coordinate with the billing team to ensure claim accuracy, coding compliance, and timely payment submission. Maintain proper documentation for audits and accreditation compliance. Interdepartmental Support Collaborate with urgent care staff to coordinate patient treatments requiring medication administration (e.g., vaccines, antibiotics, IV therapies). Maintain communication with providers regarding medication availability and therapeutic alternatives. Support front-desk and operational needs when required to ensure smooth workflow between pharmacy and clinic.Skills & Qualifications Required:
Active Ohio Pharmacy Technician Registration or Trainee License. Knowledge of prescription processing, inventory management, and insurance billing. Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills. Basic proficiency with EHR and pharmacy systems (e.g., PioneerRx, Rx30, or equivalent). Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and compliance.Preferred:
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential through PTCB or NHA. Experience in retail, hospital, or urgent care pharmacy setting. Bilingual abilities (Arabic or Spanish preferred). Familiarity withICD-10/CPT
coding and cross-departmental coordination. Working Conditions Full-time / Part-time / Shift-based (Day, Evening, or Weekend availability). May rotate between pharmacy, urgent care, and infusion operations as needed. Requires standing for extended periods, occasional lifting, and interaction with patients and staff.
