Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Pharmacy Technician, where your expertise will directly impact patient care and medication safety. In this vital role, you will support pharmacists by preparing and dispensing medications, managing medication inventory, and ensuring accurate patient records. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help deliver exceptional patient service in fast-paced hospital and LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy settings. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in critical care, IV infusion, and acute care environments while making a meaningful difference in patients' lives. Duties Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, including compounding and labeling prescriptions accurately. Manage medication inventory, ensuring stock levels are maintained and expired medications are properly disposed of. Prepare and deliver medications for IV infusion and aseptic techniques in sterile environments following strict safety protocols. Support patient intake procedures by verifying prescriptions, updating medical records, and clarifying medication orders. Provide excellent patient service by answering questions, explaining medication instructions, and ensuring understanding of treatment plans. Maintain precise documentation of medication administration, inventory logs, and patient records in compliance with hospital policies. Follow medical terminology standards and adhere to aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during medication handling. Experience Prior pharmacy technician experience in LTC pharmacy or hospital settings is highly preferred. Critical care experience or background working within acute care environments is a strong advantage. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology relevant to pharmacy operations and patient care. Experience with IV infusion preparation, aseptic techniques, and medication administration processes. Familiarity with hospital workflows related to intake procedures, medication dispensing, and patient service roles. Proven ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Certification as a pharmacy technician (e.g., CPhT) or equivalent is desirable but not mandatory; ongoing training opportunities are available for growth.
