Job Description

Deliver Exceptional Patient Care Through Accurate Dispensing LECOM Medical Center, an Equal Opportunity Employer, is currently hiring Pharmacy Techs at our two NEW Colonial locations.
REQUIRED
Under the direct supervision of Staff Pharmacists, the Pharmacy Technician has primary responsibility in the unit-dose, outpatient, intravenous admixture, and floor stock area. According to standard procedures, Pharmacy Technicians assist the Pharmacy Manager/Staff Pharmacists in dispensing medications and maintaining appropriate patient records and charges. Duties and Responsibilities Ensure precision in unit-dose drug distribution by promptly entering new and updated physician orders into patient profiles. Accurately fill unit-dose carts and deliver medications to inpatient units with speed and reliability. Maintain meticulous records and inventories while assisting in compounding specialized medications not readily available from manufacturers. Master Aseptic Techniques in IV Admixture Preparation Prepare total parenteral nutrition solutions, antibiotics, and other IV therapies using aseptic techniques. Label and deliver admixtures promptly after pharmacist verification, ensuring timely patient care. Efficiently enter physician orders into the system for accurate labeling, profiling, and billing. Provide Seamless Prescription Services Process prescriptions for dismissal, emergency room, day surgery, outpatient clinics, and employees with accuracy and efficiency. Generate precise labels, profiles, and charges while maintaining organized records and timely delivery. Manage Floor Stock with Accuracy and Accountability Deliver and retrieve floor stock medications, ensuring proper charging and crediting for inpatient units. Prepare daily and monthly reports to support financial accuracy and operational efficiency. Communicate Effectively Across the Care Team Foster collaboration with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and patients to promote safe and rational drug therapy. Maintain a Professional and Organized Workspace Keep work areas neat, clean, and well-stocked to support smooth operations in unit-dose, IV admixture, and floor stock areas. Embrace Flexibility and Team Support Perform additional duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager or Staff Pharmacist, contributing to a culture of excellence.
