Title:
Pharmacy Technician (PTCB Certified & PA Registered)
Location:
Elizabethtown, PA 17022
Shift:
Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM (No Weekends)
Note:
Candidates must be PTCB Certified and hold an active Pennsylvania Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration/License. Responsibilities Enter prescriptions into the pharmacy dispensing system. Retrieve, label, and prepare prescription drug products for dispensing. Tote prescription orders following pharmacist verification for shipment preparation. Maintain pharmacy inventory through organizing, stocking, and replenishing medications and supplies. Ensure the pharmacy work environment remains clean and compliant with pharmacy standards. Communicate effectively with customers, veterinarians, pharmacists, and team members. Assist pharmacists by retrieving information necessary for patient consultations. Refer veterinary and customer medication-related inquiries to the pharmacist. Utilize pharmacy computer systems for order entry, information retrieval, and prescription processing. Demonstrate knowledge of pharmacy layout, drug locations, and warehouse processes. Use RF scanners to pick products and complete assigned tasks efficiently. Sort, stage, and organize orders according to Mode of Transportation (MOT). Match processed summary sheets with picked orders and prepare them for pharmacist verification. Verify order status and ensure orders have been checked by a pharmacist before processing. Deliver completed orders for packing and shipping according to transportation requirements. Separate and combine prescription-only and OTC orders as required. Operate the pharmacy intercom and telephone system professionally. Support daily workflow to ensure all orders are completed accurately and on time. Monitor production demands, inventory levels, and workflow priorities throughout the shift. Collaborate with pharmacists and technicians to resolve workflow issues and product shortages. Enter and process new prescriptions and refill requests. Verify and interpret prescriptions and standing orders while maintaining regulatory compliance. Process and print waves within the order management system and manage order releases. Verify customer account and order information when necessary. Guide and support pharmacy technician team members to optimize workflow efficiency. Assist with onboarding and training newly hired pharmacy technicians. Collaborate with inventory teams to improve product retrieval processes. Support implementation of workflow and process improvements. Maintain pharmacy prescription records in accordance with state and federal regulations. Obtain forklift certification and safely retrieve pallet-sized orders if required. Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Skills & Competencies Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Knowledge of pharmacy operations, prescription processing, and inventory management. Proficiency with pharmacy dispensing systems and warehouse technology. Experience using RF scanners and order management systems preferred. Ability to prioritize workload and meet production deadlines. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to climb and descend stairs regularly. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift. Education & Experience Requirements High School Diploma or GED required. Active Pennsylvania Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration/License required. PTCB Certification required. Pharmacy technician experience preferred. Ability to maintain all state and federal licensing requirements throughout employment.
