Job Description
Remote Pharmacy Authorization Specialist 13 week contract to start | M-F | 8:00am-5:00pm Great opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician looking to move out of the pharmacy and into a prior authorization/insurance coordination role. Responsibilities Submit, track, and follow up on pharmacy prior authorizations Coordinate with insurers, PBMs, and specialty pharmacies Document approvals, denials, and appeals in the EMR Support appeals by gathering clinical documentation Educate patients on authorization status, coverage, and assistance programs Stay current on payer policies and formularies Work Environment Remote - must be local to San Diego Ability to come onsite if Wi‑Fi issues occur Must provide own equipment and reliable internet Required Skills & Qualifications CPhT required Active Pharmacy Technician License (TCH) 2+ years pharmacy technician experience 1+ year medication prior authorization experience Medical terminology proficiency EPIC (EMR) experience Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of San Diego, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
