61 This is a non-traditional top of license role for pharmacy technicians. As a part of Brown University Health's Medication Access Program team, our Liaisons work closely with our patients' care teams to ensure Brown University Health patients have the medications that they need. Our Liaisons expedite care by performing benefits investigations, identifying insurer's preferred therapies, securing financial assistance for patients, and leveraging our shared Electronic Medical Record (EMR) to effectively answer prior authorization questions and provide documentation to get therapies approved. Additionally, some individuals in this role also participate in our refill authorization program, and opportunity to act as a direct extension of many of our providers while reducing patient care delays.
These positions require:
  • High school graduate or equivalent degree required. Completion of one to two years of college preferred.
  • Maintains current unrestricted Rhode Island Pharmacy Technician II license.
  • Holds and maintains current National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT).
  • Prior pharmacy technician experience strongly preferred
  • Minimum one year experience as a pharmacy technician.
Commensurate experience in a related field (e.g., benefits management) may be considered in lieu of technician experience. Prior experience with specialty pharmacy services, call center customer service, prior authorization management, and/or patient financial assistance programs strongly preferred.
