Overview of the
Position:
Under administrative supervision of the Director of Pharmacy, the Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for the management of medication inventory accounting and ECW assignments including Medication Reconciliation.Education and Experience:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent Licensed as a Pharmacy Technician through the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy and maintains State & National Certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician. Two years of pharmacy work experience required Prior customer service experience required Experienced in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) Required Skills /Abilities:
Service-oriented mindset and strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with internal and external customers, physicians, and other healthcare providers from a variety of backgrounds and lifestyles while maintaining a non-judgmental attitude Excellent verbal and written communication skills Must have a professional demeanor, appearance and be highly organized with strong attention to detail Accurate data entry skills Strong time management and organizational skills Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing Willingness to be a team player and promote a positive team environment Flexible and proactive to meet varied patient needs Self-motivated and able to work independently Able to effectively present information to the patient and in small group situations Dedicated to excellence and quality Able to collaborate with other healthcare professionals Self-starter and highly motivated to achieve goals with minimal oversight Possess the ability to perform effectively and handle multiple tasks simultaneously Ambitious and confident change-agent; challenging conventional thinking, approach and methodology, strong advocacy, and organizational navigation skills Experience with problem-solvingEssential Job Functions:
Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Mission, Vision, and Core Values Follows HIPAA, FWA, Corporate Compliance, and all applicable state and federal laws Operates phone system according to pharmacy procedures while ensuring positive customer experience Check and record temperatures in all refrigerators in building Check humidity and records in sample closet Signing in / out of sample medications - electronically and manually when computer system down Maintains sample medication shelving system Able to educate patients on medications and how to administer them Verifies DAP medications when received Properly label and put away DAP medications Responsible for locating and logging out DAP medications Orders floor stock medications Receive floor stock medications and complete NDC sheet Order and receive sample medications Schedule Pharmaceutical breakfast, lunch, and appointments Escort pharmacy representatives to designated area for appointments / lunches Receive lunches from vendors and deliver to the appropriate areas Verifies all medications before giving out, including DAP medications Properly configure insulin Accurately completes sample inventory Accurately complete floor stock inventory Accurately complete inventory on Crash Carts Accurately replenish and dispose of expired medications in Crash Cart Check floor stock medications in each suite for expired medications Properly dispose of expired medications appropriately Properly replenish/restock floor stock medications in suites Properly restock medications that patients refuse Maintain a clean and orderly workspace, counters, drug shelves, and other areas. Collaborate with other clinic or pharmacy team members to work on special projects that may be identified Other duties as assignedPhysical Requirements:
