PHARMACY TECHNICIAN
- PART TIME Immediate opening. Pay Range $17
- 19 and hour depending on experience 24 Hours per week
Pharmacy Hours of Operation:
M-F 8AM-5PM

The Pharmacy technician assists in preparing, compounding, and dispensing medicine under the personal supervision of a licensed pharmacist.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Include the following under the personal supervision of a licensed pharmacist: Wear a name badge with the words "Pharmacy Technician" on it. Assist the pharmacist in accordance with local, state, federal, and company regulations. Verify patient insurance and eligibility to use pharmacy services. Receive refill requests or written prescriptions from patients and verify whether the information is accurate and complete. Establish and maintain patient profiles. Computer data entry Prepare prescriptions for dispensing (retrieve appropriate medication, count, pour, and label) Assist customers by replying to simple questions and locating patients to a pharmacist for medication counseling. Answering telephone calls and referring to a pharmacist when indicated. Delivering prescription medications and medical supplies to patients and medical clinic Cleaning and maintaining pharmacy equipment and working area. Compounding tasks including reconstituting oral antibiotic suspensions and measuring water. Prepackage drugs. Assemble medications for emergency dispensing cart. Maintaining specific security and storage conditions for drugs and supplies. Ordering pharmacy stock of drugs and supplies. Receiving and storing inbound drugs and supplies, verifying the quantities against invoice, verifying drug pedigree, and informing supervising pharmacist about inventory shortages, problem with pedigree, or incorrect invoices. Filing and maintaining pharmacy records (prescription, controlled substances, borrow and loan, statistics). Maintain confidential information about patients.Qualification Requirements:

- A high school degree or General Education Degree (GED).
- Registered or Certified pharmacy technician with the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy.
- Work experience as a pharmacy technician.
- Working knowledge of the pharmaceutical and medical terms, abbreviations, and symbols commonly used in the prescribing, dispensing, administering, and charting of medications.
- Working knowledge of drug names, dosages, and routes of administration.
Language Skills:
- Proactive listener.
- Able to follow written and oral instructions effectively.
- Effective reading comprehension to understand work related documents and policy and procedure manuals.
- Ability to speak effectively to customers, physician office staff, vendor representatives, and other employees of the company.
- Effective communication skills in writing.
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to perform the arithmetical calculations required for the usual dosage determinations and solution preparations.
Reasoning Ability:
- Good decision-making and problem-solving ability.
- Effective time management skills.
Computer Skills:
- Effective typing and data entry skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Repeat the same movements with meticulous care and attention. Use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble very small objects. May occasionally have to use stepladder to retrieve medications/supplies from high shelves.Work Environment:
The work environment is clean, organized, well-lit, and well-ventilated. The noise level of the environment is mild to moderate. Appropriate dress code attire is required.Job Type:
