Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Pharmacy Technician, where your expertise will directly impact patient care and medication safety. In this vital role, you will support pharmacists in dispensing medications, managing inventory, and ensuring accurate medication administration across various healthcare settings. Responsibilities Assist pharmacists with preparing and dispensing prescription medications, including LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy and hospital settings. Perform medication intake, verifying prescriptions and ensuring accuracy in patient records. Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounded medications using aseptic techniques for IV infusions and critical care patients. Manage medication inventory, including stock replenishment and proper storage procedures. Support patient care by providing medication information and answering questions related to drug therapies. Maintain precise documentation of medication administration, inventory logs, and compliance records. Adhere to strict safety protocols, including aseptic technique and infection control measures during medication preparation and delivery. Experience Previous pharmacy technician experience is required, preferably within LTC pharmacy, hospital, or acute care environments. Critical care experience is highly valued, especially involving IV infusion preparation and aseptic techniques. Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration protocols is essential for success in this role. Hospital experience or familiarity with inpatient pharmacy operations will enhance your ability to support diverse patient needs. Demonstrated commitment to patient service and patient care through effective communication and attention to detail. Experience with intake processes, medication reconciliation, and managing high-volume workflows is advantageous. Certification as a pharmacy technician (CPhT) or equivalent credential is preferred but not mandatory; ongoing training opportunities are available for growth. $16.00 - $16.50 per hour
