Job Title:
Pharmacy Technician Job Description The Pharmacy Technician plays a key role in a high-volume, state-of-the-art warehouse fulfillment environment by accurately filling prescriptions, managing inventory through automated systems, and preparing orders for shipment. This position requires strong attention to detail, adherence to HIPAA regulations and pharmacy protocols, and a commitment to excellence in supporting patient care and pharmacy operations. Responsibilities Accurately and efficiently fill prescription vials in accordance with pharmacy standards and protocols. Use computer systems to locate, verify, and process merchandise and prescription orders. Stock automated dispensing cells with medications, ensuring correct drug, strength, and quantity. Perform basic math calculations to confirm correct prescription counts and quantities. Scan barcodes to manage and track inventory, maintaining accurate records of medications and supplies. Identify issues related to prescriptions, inventory, or equipment and escalate them promptly to appropriate personnel. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards on the pharmacy floor and within the fulfillment area. Follow all HIPAA regulations and pharmacy protocols to protect patient privacy and ensure regulatory compliance. Prepare orders for shipping with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring correct packaging and labeling. Uphold ICARE principles by demonstrating integrity, a customer-first mindset, accountability, respect, and excellence in daily work. Collaborate with team members in a fast-paced environment to meet production goals and service levels. Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute ideas to enhance workflow, quality, and patient care. Essential Skills Current Tennessee State Pharmacy Technician License. TN State Pharmacy Technician License in good standing. Pharmacy technician certificate or formal pharmacy technician training. Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy experience, preferably in a warehouse or fulfillment environment. Experience in fulfillment, pharmacy, or retail pharmacy settings. Ability to perform basic math accurately for prescription counts and inventory management. Proficiency with computer systems used for locating, verifying, and processing pharmacy merchandise. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with limited downtime. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling medications and patient information. Understanding and application of HIPAA regulations and pharmacy protocols. Reliable transportation to consistently meet scheduled shifts. High school diploma or equivalent. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Memphis, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.50 - $20.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
