Overview Pharmacy Technician Full Time, 80
Hours Per Pay Period, Variable Shifts Morristown-Hamblen Overview:
Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System is a 170-bed hospital serving an eight-county region in East Tennessee's Lakeway Area. The facility includes more than 20 emergency suites, advanced laboratories, radiology, and therapy services, and a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence for mammograms, biopsies, and nurse navigation. The Women's Center features six modern labor and delivery suites and a secure nursery for newborn care. Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, performs all functions pertaining to the preparation, dispensing and distribution of all medications. Responsibilities Fills medication orders and outpatient prescriptions to be verified by pharmacist. Assists the pharmacists with the maintenance of the computerized patient profile system and related transactions. Responsible for maintenance of a 24 hour inpatient medication supply. Responsible for preparation of extemporaneous unit dose medications. Verifies integrity of emergency carts throughout the medical center. Communicates with patient-care areas to facilitate expedient medication delivery. Demonstrates proficiency in aseptic techniques and basic IV preparation support. Performs mathematical calculations for medication volumes and metric measurements. Reconciles IV doses and documents discrepancies. Transmits drug order to wholesaler. Accurately stocks pharmacy inventory and rotates stock to ensure adequate supply. Responsible for monitoring expiration dates on all medications. Maintains inventory adhering to contracted products and formulary items. Demonstrates knowledge and competency in providing for age-specific needs of the populations served. Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested. Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications Minimum Education:

None Licensure Requirement:
