Pharmacy Technician

Pharmacy Technician - Closed Door Pharmacy Position Overview We're seeking a dedicated and detail‑oriented Pharmacy Technician to support prescription processing in a fast‑paced pharmacy environment. This role is critical in preparing medications for final pharmacist verification while maintaining high standards of accuracy, safety, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities + Pick, label, scan, and prepare prescriptions for pharmacist verification + Accurately fill daily drug orders under pharmacist supervision + Pull medications from shelving, storage areas, and prepack racks + Apply labels to blister cards and scan products for accuracy + Alert the pharmacist on duty of any scanning or product discrepancies + Assist with pre‑packing frequently ordered medications during low‑volume periods + Process returned medications and recycle or dispose of items per procedure + Package materials and products manually + Maintain clean, organized workstations and replenish supplies as needed + Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA + Comply with departmental policies related to safety, attendance, and dress code + Overtime, holidays, and weekends may be required + Perform other duties as assigned Minimum Requirements + High School Diploma or equivalent + Ability to work at a moderate, consistent pace + Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English + Possess and maintain a clear and active Texas Pharmacy Technician License issued by the Texas Board of Pharmacy Preferred Qualifications + Previous pharmacy technician experience Why Join This Opportunity? + Hands‑on pharmacy operations experience + Structured workflow with pharmacist support + Opportunity to build or grow your pharmacy career + Team‑focused, production‑driven environment Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Abilene, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
