Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Pharmacy Technician, where you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care through precise medication management and efficient pharmacy operations. Your expertise will ensure safe medication dispensing, accurate record-keeping, and compassionate patient service, all while supporting critical care and acute care settings. Duties Prepare and dispense medications accurately under the supervision of licensed pharmacists, including IV infusions and aseptic techniques for sterile preparations Assist with medication intake, verification, and inventory management to ensure timely availability of pharmaceuticals Provide excellent patient service by answering medication-related questions and supporting patient care initiatives Maintain precise medical terminology documentation and pharmacy records in compliance with hospital protocols Support critical care units by managing medication administration processes and ensuring adherence to aseptic procedures Collaborate with healthcare teams to facilitate smooth medication distribution across various departments, including LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy settings Ensure all pharmacy operations meet safety standards, including aseptic techniques and infection control protocols Experience Prior pharmacy technician experience in hospital or acute care environments is highly preferred Demonstrated knowledge of LTC pharmacy practices and critical care medication management Hands-on experience with IV infusion preparation and aseptic techniques required Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to hospital settings and medication administration processes Proven ability to work effectively within a fast-paced healthcare team, supporting patient care initiatives Experience working with hospital electronic health records (EHR) systems or pharmacy information systems is advantageous Certification as a pharmacy technician from an accredited program is required or strongly preferred This role offers an exciting opportunity to advance your career in pharmacy while making a tangible difference in patient outcomes.
