Position Summary The Infusion Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in the preparation, compounding, and dispensing of sterile and non-sterile medications, home medical equipment, and ancillary supplies for home infusion patients. This role requires strong sterile compounding skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-risk IV environment. The technician also interacts with patients and caregivers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of medications and supplies, while maintaining full compliance with regulatory and safety standards. This position works under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist and may assist with training newly hired technicians. Key Responsibilities Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of sterile and non-sterile compounded medications in compliance with USP, state, and federal regulations. Prepare high-risk IV admixtures and perform all required calculations, obtaining pharmacist verification prior to compounding. Assemble, stage, and organize production orders to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion. Prepare and maintain accurate documentation including: Labels and prescriptions Compounding and mixing worksheets Batch records, lot numbers, and expiration dates Delivery and pick slips Pick, pull, and package supplies and home medical equipment for patient deliveries. Ensure cleanroom and compounding areas are cleaned, sanitized, and maintained per company policies and regulatory standards. Perform all required quality control tests and procedures for compounded products and immediately report any positive or abnormal results to the pharmacist. Assist with inventory management, including monitoring supplies, coordinating with warehouse/distribution staff, and maintaining accurate facility records. Obtain supply inventories from patients/clients and communicate relevant information to the pharmacist as needed. Provide excellent customer service, including professional phone etiquette and patient communication. Act as a liaison between pharmacy staff and other personnel to address operational issues and concerns. Assist with training and onboarding of new pharmacy technicians when requested. Participate in department, branch management, and quality improvement meetings. Maintain compliance with all Accreditation standards, OSHA, FDA, and state, local, and federal regulations related to infusion pharmacy operations. Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned, including shipping support when needed. Required Qualifications Current Texas Pharmacy Technician License Sterile IV Certification Minimum of 2 years of Pharmacy Technician experience , preferably in infusion or compounding pharmacy High school diploma or equivalent Strong sterile compounding technique and cleanroom experience Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office programs Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team Preferred Qualifications Spanish language skills (preferred, not required) Previous home infusion or high-risk IV compounding experience
Work Environment & Schedule Expectations Travel:
Minimal travel may be required for patient deliveries

Frequent disruptions to routine; participation in an on-call schedule may be required
