Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician Job Type Contract Support at-home chronic care management as a skilled Pharmacy Technician III within a mail order pharmacy setting. This 13-week contract opportunity offers a patient-focused environment where attention to detail and quick problem-solving contribute to seamless prescription processing and medication fulfillment.
Location:
Roanoke, VA Schedule:
Monday to Friday 9:00 AM to 5:30
PM Key Responsibilities:
Interpret sig codes and accurately select products to process prescription refills Enter data, verify insurance details, and resolve any processing rejections Prepare, label, and package medications for pharmacist approval ensuring accuracy and compliance Maintain inventory through cycle counts and manage medication returns efficiently Handle inbound and outbound patient calls, as well as respond to prescriber inquiries professionally Adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations, Medicare/Medicaid requirements, and organizational protocols
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required Minimum of 4 years' experience as a Pharmacy Technician Active Virginia Pharmacy Technician license and PTCB certification Excellent communication skills paired with strong multitasking and time management abilities This contract role reports directly to the Operations Manager, Pharmacy, contributing to an efficient workflow that supports patients' at-home medication needs.
