Custom Prescriptions Pharmacy in Bellevue is searching for a motivated, enthusiastic and hardworking individual to work with our team as a compounding pharmacy technician. Custom Prescriptions is dedicated to providing patients with high quality compounded medications that improve their health. We are a high volume compounding pharmacy which allows a technician to interact with various patients, utilize a specialized compounding software and compound various medications. Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Mixes compounded preparations, fills bottles with prescribed tablets, capsules, creams, liquids, etc. Works out problems associated with patients and doctors orders. Answers the phone and communicates effectively with patients and prescribers. Accesses patient information electronically and manually. Cleans pharmacy and equipment in accordance with company standards. Cleans up and maintains clean orderly workspaces. Compounds capsules, creams, suspensions among many other non-sterile preparations. Maintain an organized and updated inventory system for purchases, inventories and customer sales. Types prescriptions into data entry system. Helps file prescriptions and compounding lot information according to company procedures. Checks packages in the pharmacy before carrier pickups to ensure correct material is being sent.
- Detail and team oriented individual that has excellent customer service skills, multitasking and answering phones.
- Process prescriptions in a timely fashion from typing the prescription, pulling the correct medication and filling the prescription.
- Willing to be trained in preparing various compounded formulations including but not limited to oral solutions, creams, ointments, troches, suppositories and animal treats.
- Willing to be trained on how to operate, monitor and maintain work area and compounding equipment in a sanitary fashion including equipment such as: ointment mill, tube sealer, electronic mortar and pestle, hot plates, electric and analytical balance, sieves and glassware.
- Willing to be trained in all rotations of the pharmacy (mail order, order entry, compounding and filling stations.
- Able to work full-time Monday through Friday from 9:30 to 6pm.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current certification from an accredited School of Pharmacy Tech training
- Licensed and registered with the Washington State Department of Health as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Minimum 1 year pharmacy experience desired
