40 Hours Weekly Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Inpatient Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacy operations within an acute care hospital setting. The ideal candidate will assist pharmacists in medication preparation, dispensing, inventory management, and medication distribution while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and patient safety protocols. Responsibilities Assist pharmacists in the preparation, packaging, labeling, and distribution of medications. Accurately process medication orders and maintain pharmacy records. Prepare and deliver medications to patient care units in accordance with established procedures. Support medication inventory management, including stocking, replenishment, and expiration-date monitoring. Operate automated dispensing systems and pharmacy technology platforms. Maintain medication storage areas in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards. Assist with medication reconciliation and controlled substance documentation as directed. Ensure accuracy in medication preparation and distribution processes. Respond to pharmacy requests from nursing and clinical staff in a timely manner. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and organizational pharmacy regulations. Support quality assurance and patient safety initiatives. Maintain accurate documentation and utilize electronic medical record systems effectively. Required Qualifications Education High School Diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a Pharmacy Technician training program preferred. Licensure & Certifications Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification required. Current state pharmacy technician registration or licensure, if applicable, required. Experience Minimum one (1) year of inpatient hospital pharmacy technician experience required. Experience working in an acute care hospital environment preferred. First-time travelers accepted. Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, medication preparation, and distribution processes. Experience with automated dispensing systems and pharmacy technology. Familiarity with medication safety standards and regulatory requirements. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Strong communication and customer service skills. Proficiency with electronic medical records and pharmacy information systems. Experience with EPIC or similar healthcare software preferred. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Additional Information Start Date:
ASAP No on-call requirements. Travelers only; local candidates residing within 50 miles of the assigned facility are not eligible for travel contract consideration.
