Sat 9AM-1PM Job Summary The Supervisor/Lead Technician is responsible for overseeing daily operations of a patient-focused support team, ensuring high-quality service delivery, effective issue resolution, and a positive, supportive work environment. This role combines people leadership, problem-solving, and hands-on operational support. Key Responsibilities Lead, coach, and direct a team of up to 20 technicians to ensure performance, engagement, and adherence to established workflows and service standards. Troubleshoot and investigate patient-related issues involving medications, escalating concerns appropriately and ensuring timely resolution. Effectively de-escalate situations involving patients or team members, using sound judgment, empathy, and conflict resolution skills. Actively learn operational queues and workflows and achieve proficiency to provide hands-on support during peak times or staffing needs. Foster a supportive, collaborative, and approachable team environment that promotes trust, professionalism, and positive patient experiences. Qualifications & Skills Demonstrated experience leading or supervising teams in a healthcare, pharmacy, or patient-support environment. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess patient-related medication concerns. Proven ability to manage escalations calmly and professionally. Willingness and ability to learn operational systems and queues to support team needs. Friendly, approachable demeanor with a commitment to building a positive and supportive workplace culture. Pay Range $25.30 - $37.95 Major Responsibilities Leads the shift or area/program by assigning, monitoring, and reviewing the progress and accuracy of technician work Acts as a resource for the team, providing day-to-day direction and guidance on complex issues, resolving conflicts when necessary and fostering a positive work environment Assists leadership with teammate interviewing, selection, development, and engagement Creates staff schedules and monitors performance, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures and compliance with regulatory standards Trains, orients, and educates team members, ensuring competency and completion of required training program Identifies quality improvement opportunities and collaborates with leadership to design and implement initiatives to enhance efficiency, safety and engagement Participates in performance improvement activities and ensures proper documentation and compliance with legal, regulatory, and accrediting bodies Knowledgeable with use of automation and technology, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment Collaborates with pharmacists and other healthcare providers in coordinating medication preparation, dispensing, and related processes Monitors and maintains inventory levels, processes drug recalls and ensures appropriate handling of controlled substances Assists with all duties required of TechnicianI, II, III
when appropriately needed Ensures proper documentation for department tasks, meeting legal and regulatory standards Reviews billing processes, adjusts patient bills as necessary, and processes charges and credits for medications where appropriate Assists in the preparation and review of pharmacy training materials and programs Acts as a role model for safe, effective and efficient care, demonstrating the skills and knowledge necessary for pharmacy technicians Demonstrates expertise in pharmacy practices, including medication handling, regulatory compliance, and automation troubleshooting Acts as a liaison between the technician team and department leadership Knowledgeable in billing and insurance processes, including prior authorizations and third-party claims where appropriate Familiarity with age-specific care requirements and ability to assess and meet the needs of diverse patient populations Other Duties as assigned Minimum Job Requirements Education High School Diploma or GED equivalent Certification / Registration / License Registration or licensure with state board of pharmacy per state of employment requirements Certification through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (CPhT) or National Healthcareer Association (ExCPT). Experience Typically, 3 year of work experience in applicable work setting.Knowledge / Skills
/ Abilities Highly effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills Exceptional customer service, problem resolution and process development skills Demonstrated leadership skills such as delegation, team building, managing multiple priorities, problem solving, and decision making Ability to understand and become knowledgeable of pharmacy standards, policies, procedures, and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, take imitative, and to work independently with minimal supervision Must be detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple demands simultaneously Computer skills with Microsoft Office, email, internet access, electronic pharmacy management systems, and pharmacy ordering and inventory systems Life support training courses may be required dependent on department discretion Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, bend, kneel, climb, twist, crawl and reach above shoulders Requires considerable walking, standing, pushing mobile cart of 50 pounds maximum and lifting 35 pounds of material Must have functional vision, touch and hearing Must be able to speak and be understood by others to communicate effectively Utilizes appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to perform job duties and minimize exposure to hazardous agents, body fluids, and communicable diseases May be exposed to chemical hazards May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease Frequent fine motor motion of hands and wrists to perform manipulative skills such as writing, typing, data entry into the computer, and preparation of medications, including use of syringes Takes necessary precautions to avoid inadvertent needle sticks, minor cuts or bruises. Exposed to various conditions throughout the workday such as walking on hard surfaces, climbing stairs and changes in temperature and humidity.
